If you want to save money this semester, you should try renting your textbooks. Compared to buying and selling them the traditional way, renting your textbooks can save you a few hundred bucks per semester. After doing the math and comparing vs. buying, i figured out last semester that I saved over $400 by renting my books. I've rented on three different sites, but my favorite is Bookrenter.
Largest selection of books
Bookrenter has the biggest selection of books, I found every book I needed on their site, vs. having to search around and call customer service when using other sites. Bookrenter has 3 million books in stock, compared to 1.2 million for one of the leading competitors.
Free shipping
Bookrenter gives you free shipping on all your orders. Other textbook rental sites require you to pay for standard shipping. Free shipping is nice, because sometimes it takes me 2 or 3 shopping sessions to figure out and find all the books I need. When you don't have to pay for shipping each time you can shop in segments for each round of books you need.
Reliable service and good book condition
All my books from Bookrenter came ahead of schedule, and were packaged nicely and were in good condition. Bookrenter allows some minimal highlighting in their books, but only rent them a fixed number of times so you never get a heavily used book, plus you can do some highlighting you need.
Free returns
Bookrenter offers free returns on all books. If you get the wrong book or drop a class you can easily ship a book right back to Bookrenter at no cost. You just print out their label and ship it back, and you will receive a full refund in a few days. Its pretty easy and straightforward.

I ordered mine on the 23 of August and I got Express shipping. It has been six days since I ordered it and it is still says that it is processing. I don't think that the website is reliable. It says it only takes 1-2 days to process, that's bull sh*t. I give it a 1 out of 100.
