Guides to College Life

Make the most of your college life and enjoy every second of it. In years to come, you will be looking back to all special and powerful memories that you have done and shared with friends. Those good memories can bring a smile on your face and even bad ones too.

  • Be safe and stay healthy if you can. Eat nutritious foods and try not to grow obese.
  • Consider your camera as your buddy by carrying it with you every day. Record both special and ordinary events in your college life.
  • Don’t  be depressed by your low grades. Just keep on learning to improve it. Future success is not measured by grades anyway.
  • Don’t be afraid to fall in love. Give it a chance.
  • Don’t give up when failure hits you. Instead, learn from it.
  • Embrace special and meaningful moments and experiences in the campus even if they are too painful.
  • Enjoy your present life in college but stay focus on your future career and goals.
  • If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend, introduce him/her to your friends. They might see things that you can’t as you are blinded by your emotions.
  • It doesn’t hurt if you will ask help from time to time. Let go of your ego.
  • Make more friends by joining clubs and sports game in your school. More friends means more future references.
  • Don’t be afraid to take risks.
  • · Get plenty of rest whenever possible and sleep early so you can wake up and start early.
  • After school obligations, go out for a date, have fun and enjoy. But don’t expect that every date can develop into a deep relationship.
  • Befriend your professors as you can learn a lot from them.
  • College students are considered as responsible adults but don’t act too seriously.  Make your college life fun, enjoyable and memorable, so sometimes it is okay to venture or experiment something that is irresponsible.
  • Determine what approach works best for you when you study or work with projects. There are some students who work ahead of time and there are others who can function at their best when they are pressured.
  • If there is an opportunity, make friends and get to know your close friends’ family. Meeting and knowing them will enable you to know your friends better.
  • Use some of your free time to get enough sleep. College life can be demanding of your time. You have to prepare your body and mind for the next day’s class and activities.
  • You will be away from your family for awhile for your college education. If your schedule permits, call them at least once a week.
